Leaf Observation
Look at a leaf and watch it go from green to brown and fall to the ground. What can we see? Is it death and the end? Is it a prelude to a cold winter? No. What we can see is the cycle of life.

The life that springs from dead leaves
A brown dead leaf may look like an ending. However, the food it feeds the environment may be much broader than in its younger, greener period.
Death is part of nature world but not the end
Dead leaves provide a primary food base for life, from fungi and bacteria, and the insects that chew on them, down to the birds and fish that eat those insects. The dead leaves that seem to come to an end are the beginning of the food chain. Actually, dead leaves brew and support lives.
